Trinidad – Changing Lives: 11 Years

down
April 22

On 4/11/11, the day I started to work full-time on Trinidad, my honest goal was to change my own life and the life of my family. We had four kids, one on the way, and in my job at the time, I was not on pace to pay for college for even one kid, let alone five. Our house needed another bathroom, another bedroom… I needed to figure out a way to change OUR lives. 11 years later, God has blessed us more than I could ever imagine. I’ve had an amazing support system at home, for all the highs and lows of being a business owner. It’s lonely, scary, humbling, stressful – and my wife has helped carry me many times. My team at work inherently knows how to get things done, and when I need them, they also let me know “We’ve Got This!” I’ve been fortunate to join some organizations like YPO, where I’ve learned more in the last few years than in the prior 20, and have made friends that have pushed, encouraged, and supported me. 11 years in, we have numerous examples, internally, where our employees’ lives have been changed, as a result of working for this company, and we’re just getting started. We have a team of motivated people that believe that there is no ceiling to how far they can go, and they are working together to build OUR dreams. We are also very focused on changing people’s lives outside of our business. We are working to help provide a pathway to help minorities find their way to the construction trades. We’re kicking off a program to help mentor six African American CEO’s in the construction industry. After 26 years in the industry… watching my dad build a great company… then, unfortunately, watching it close… and then personally building a new business that now supports over 20 Fortune 500 clients… we can share a lot of lessons, to help new entrepreneurs avoid some of the challenges that affect many MBE Construction companies. It’s all part of our mission to help change other people’s lives. I know that if I continue to surround myself with great people, we will be great! I can’t wait to see what this next year and the next 11 bring our business. #goodpeoplewhocare #people #construction #team
